Coronation Street actor Malcolm Hebden has secretly quit the soap after 27 years.
This means that soap fans will never see his character Norris Cole on the cobbles ever again.
The 81-year-old first left the ITV soap in 2017 after suffering a near-fatal heart attack, but returned briefly for a storyline involving Ken Barlow moving to retirement home.
But filming on the Corrie set stopped when the coronavirus pandemic hit last year, and initially resumed without its older cast.
Yet Malcolm has not returned alongside actors such as Maureen Lipman and Bill Roache - and sadly won't ever be back in Weatherfield.
The actor told The Sun : “I absolutely adored playing Norris and I was pleased to be able to return briefly after my operation.
“It took a great deal of courage to make the decision to retire.
“But I had come to realise that although the mind was willing the body was not so much.”
Malcolm first appeared as Norris in Corrie back in 1994 and was involved in a number of storylines over the years, including marrying friend Mary Taylor and reuniting with half-brother Ramsay, played by Andrew Sachs
But Norris wasn't the first character Malcolm played in the ITV soap.
Malcom first stepped onto the cobbles as Carlos, Mavis Riley's Spanish lover, in 1974.
