Coronation Street's Mikey North reveals sex of wife's unborn baby

Coronation Street star Mikey North has revealed that he and wife Rachael Isherwood are expecting a baby girl when she gives birth later this autumn.

The actor, who plays Gary Windass in the ITV soap, says he and Rachael are thrilled to be welcoming a little daughter.

And they've already got a name for their new arrival picked out - helped by their two-year-old son Archie.

"We've just moved house and put the name on the wallpaper that Rachael has chosen," Mikey told OK! magazine.

"Archie wouldn't let us call her anything else anyway, so he partly chose the name, but we're keeping it a secret."

Archie's birth was a stressful one for the couple, who threw out their birthing plan when the pain became too intense for Rachael to bear.

"I remember Rach insisting, 'I'm not having any pain relief,' and then about six hours in, she's like, 'Give me everything!'" he recalled.

Mikey and Rachael have decided that there won't be any more children after this one.

"I would be highly surprised if we had any more. Two is a great number," he added.

Rachael joked that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - the Duke and Duchess of Sussex - copied them by using their son's name for the newest royal baby .

"They've got great taste," she laughed.

"When Archie was a little bit younger, whenever Prince Harry came on the TV, he always said, 'There's Daddy!'" Mikey quipped.
