Coronation Street's Kimberly Hart-Simpson comes out as bisexual during Lorraine chat

Kimberly Hart-Simpson has thrown her support behind the LGBTQ community as she came out as bisexual during a chat with Lorraine Kelly.

The Coronation Street actress, 33, opened up about her sexuality live on Good Morning Britain.

The soap star explained that she recently designed a rainbow-themed dress for her pal and Hollyoaks star Jessica Ellis.

She explained that the dress was symbolic to her and had a deep personal meaning that was "really important" to her.

The actress - who plays sex worker Nicky on the hit ITV soap - admitted that she's part o the LGBTQ community during the video call.

She said: "It was during Pride Month, so it was really important, we were representing the LGBTQ community and I’m part of that as well.

"I represent the B. So for me to do that was really, really important.

"This was the discovery of when I was starting to learn to sew, so she put a lot fo trust in me to do that."

She revealed the news during a chat with Lorraine (ITV)

Switching gears onto her recently landing a role in the hit soap, Kimberly said she has been auditioning for the show for the past 10 years.

She explained: "I remember getting the job, I got the call and I was in a basement and I fell to the floor… I was crying."

She added: "It’s been 10 years in the making, the first day was so weird, I was quite calm. You’re around legends, but I felt quite like I belong [here]."

Kimberly's character will be back on the Cobbles soon, amid more scenes with her and potential love interest Daniel Osbourne this week.

The actress has revealed viewers will eventually learn a lot more about the new girl - and she's hiding something.
