Coronation Street's Ken Barlow tells of plan for when episodes run out

William Roache explained Coronation Street's plan for when the currently filmed episodes run out.

Bill, who plays the iconic Ken Barlow, appeared on Good Morning Britain this morning, alongside his daughter Verity.

Bill, 88, is locked down with Verity and son Will and said he has been enjoying spending time with his family.

He said: "I know it's an awful thing going on, but personally we're getting on well.

"I'm painting, writing and practising the clarinet and I don't have to learn any lines.

"I'm loving it, we're enjoying being together and having a wonderful time together."

Piers Morgan asked Bill if he knew what would happen when the Coronation Street episodes run out.

He said: "I think we have quite a while, we used to show six episodes a week, but now we're rationing it to three times.

"I think we had two months in the can, so I think we have around four months in total from when we stopped filming, so around three months left.

"But we have 60 years to go off so it won't go off air, theres plenty they can be showing and doing."

Bill also said he hadn't been out of the house for around a month, with son Will the only person leaving the house, to try and keep the virus away from the household.

Bill sent his love to the NHS and carers, he said: "We are all sending lots of love and healing, they are doing amazing work."

*GMB continues at 6am on ITV tomorrow
