Coronation Street's Katie McGlynn's incredible body transformation after losing a stone

Coronation Street's Katie McGlynn has lost a stone after embarking on a new healthy lifestyle.

Recently the actress, who plays Sinead Tinker in the ITV soap, has been showing off a new trimmer figure after shaping up .

Two years ago the 25-year-old turned to her former co-star Catherine Tyldesley after witnessing her dramatic weight loss shrinking from a size 22 to a size 10.

After reportedly seeking advice from Cath, Sinead began a gruelling training and fitness regime in the gym.

Within a year Katie dropped two dress sizes with the help of Ultimate Performance Fitness training, a gym both Cath and Corrie colleague Brooke Vincent have both attended.

It's believed that Katie, who split from her boyfriend Benji Roberts in January, followed a similar Mediterranean-style diet that Cath followed during her own journey.

Katie told Woman magazine in 2017 that she tended to eat something high in fat and protein to giver her a boost first thing in the morning.

She swapped meals heavy with carbs and sugar to eat a chicken salad for lunch and tuna, brown rice and veg form dinner.

Katie encouraged people to get out and about if they wanted to lose weight even if it was only for 30 minutes a day, and not to be scared of weights in the gym.

"I’d avoided weights before, as I just thought it would bulk me up,’ she says.

"But I now do them twice a week at Ultimate Performance in Manchester. It’s one of the best things you can do – it helps boost your metabolism and ups your calorie burn (muscle tissue burns more cals than fat), even when you’re not working out."

As well as weight-lifting, Katie, who is set to leave Coronation Street later this year, said she also regularly goes swimming and goes boxing once a week, and does circuit-training.

For Katie the main goal was to stop stressing about shifting weight as she admits it wasn't a quick process.

"To maintain weight loss, it’s better to do it over a longer period. See everything you do as a permanent lifestyle change. Don’t deny yourself anything. If you want a chocolate bar, have it – just exercise a bit harder the following day."

Katie's newfound body confidence also led to a little trouble with her neighbours after they spotted her walking around in the nude in her home.

She confessed to giving people an eyeful, but says she’s now taken steps to protect her modesty by installing new blinds.
