Coronation Street's Jacob to return to the cobbles over 'unfinished business'

Coronation Street's Jacob Hay is set to return to the Cobbles, after six months away from the soap.

Jack James Ryan, who plays the evil gang member, confirmed his return to Weatherfield on Twitter.

Jacob caused chaos earlier this year, after bringing Simon Barlow into his drug-running operation.

The pair became friends, or so Simon thought, as they both worked together - but things soon took a sinister turn.

One scene saw Jacob and Simon threatening to teach a young lad a lesson by bundling him in the back of a car.

Jacob also made Simon's mum Leanne Battersby miserable by taking over her flat and insulting her, leaving her powerless in her own home.

His final scenes aired in March, after drug lord Harvey, played by Will Mellor, found out he had been ripping him off.

Jacob was put into hospital after Harvey ordered he be beaten up.

Jack James Ryan today tweeted: "JACOB HAY IS BACK!!! I can’t even begin to describe how chuffed I am to be back on those cobbles.

"There was so much unfinished business for Jacob so I can’t wait to tie up some of the loose ends. I’m beyond excited to see what you guys think!!"

Leanne actress Jane Danson replied: "Super chuffed to see this guy back on the cobbles- i hope he continues to wind Leanne up", with a cry-laughing emoji.
