Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd stopped by supermarket staff for wrong reason

Jack P Shepherd is one of Coronation Street's most famous stars, having appeared in the soap for more than two decades.

The much-loved actor has been involved in a number of emotional story-lines over the years, having played David Platt since 2001. Given his fame, Jack is probably recognised by fans on a regular basis.

However, during a trip to Sainsbury's on Monday he says he was stopped at the checkout for a bizarre reason. Taking to his Instagram stories, Jack let his many followers in on what had just happened.

Wearing sunglasses, the 33-year-old spoke to the camera and said: "Just in Sainos then. Woman on the till says 'where do I know you from?' [sic]

"I went 'oh, Coronation Street. She went 'No, no, you were on something last night.' She went 'Tipping Point, that's it'.

Before bursting into fits of laughter, Jack continued: "I went 'oh right, was I?' [She said] 'How did you do?' [I said] 'Not bad!".

Jack's character David has not been so lucky in love over the years, but Jack seems very happy with his long-term partner. The 33-year-old has been dating Hanni Treweek for more than four years.

Appearing on Loose Women in 2020, Jack said the pair "fell in love quite quickly" after being "on the same page". He continued: "I think we'd like to [get married and have children] in the future".

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
