Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd goes shirtless as he pretends to be Wolverine

Coronation Street Jack P Shepherd has been at the centre of the drama for 20 years as troubled David Platt - and now he's channelled another different angry character in lockdown.

The Corrie favourite pretended to be the clawed Marvel film character Wolverine played by Hugh Jackman.

Jack posted a shirtless video of himself on Instagram lashing out with knives and forks instead of claws.

"Do I get the part? @thehughjackman," he asked.

"Jack you have officially gone lockdown crazy," joked his co-star Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby.

Julia Goulding, who plays his on-screen wife Shona Ramsey, exclaimed: "Very good but the KNIVES AND FORKS!!!!!"

"Lockdown going well mate?" joked one of his followers.

Rocking a bushy beard and sideburns Jack, 32, got into character while running on the spot.

In the soap David is currently in meltdown after being rejected by his wife who is suffering from memory loss after being shot on Christmas Day.

After Shona asked for a divorce, David is giving himself an adrenaline rush by challenging dangerous gangs and being chased.

Jack previously paid homage to Hollywood legend Tom Cruise by copying his dance scene from the 1983 film Risky Business.

And he entertained fans by performing Hugh Grant's famous dance from the 2003 romantic comedy film Love Actually.

He dedicated the dance to the NHS who are working tirelessly on the frontline of the coronavirus crisis.

Jack has taken a trip down memory lane in lockdown by sharing some of his highlights of his time on the much-loved soap.

The actor, who joined the soap in 2000, shared some throwback photos of himself before he joined the show at the age of 12 on Instagram.
