Coronation Street's Jack James Ryan's adorable reaction to co-star sister's baby news as he makes 'promise'

Former Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan has shared his adorable reaction to becoming an uncle after her co-star sister announced the birth of her first child. The actor, who played Jacob Hay in the ITV soap until earlier this year, reshared his sister Rebecca Ryan's special post to his Instagram Story.

Rebecca, who played bunny boiler Lydia Chambers in thrilling scenes with Adam and Sarah Barlow in Corrie last year, shared an adorable picture as she revealed on Tuesday (May 2) that she had welcomed a baby girl before sharing her princess-inspired name.

The 31-year-old, who announced in December that she was expecting a baby with her husband Dan Acraman, shared: "Welcome to the world my beautiful baby girl Aurora," next to a photo of her tiny bundle of joy lying on snuggly blankets.

The post was quickly flooded with congratulatory messages from Rebecca's former Corrie co-stars, followers and fans. Harriet Bibby, who plays Summer Spellman, wrote: "Congratulations Rebecca! She is absolutely beautiful!!" Elle Mulvaney, who plays Amy Barlow, gasped: "Omg. the cutest. so so happy for you."

And her brother Jack said: "My new best mate." But he also shared the wonderful news of the new addition to the family on his own Instagram Story. He shared Rebecca's post and wrote: "Never felt love like it." He then made a vow to his newborn niece, adding: "Promise to be the best uncle ever," alongside a face holding back tears emoji.

Back in December, Jack shared his joy at becoming an uncle when Rebecca announced she was pregnant. The former Shameless and Waterloo Road actress shared a gorgeous picture of herself on Instagram, showing off her blossoming baby bump in a dazzling silver mini-dress.

Posing alongside her Christmas tree in towering black heels, former soap star Rebecca penned: "I thought this year couldn’t get any better after marrying the man of my dreams, but it turns out it can…"

She then added: "Can’t wait to become a mummy in 2023 x" alongside a heart emoji. In another image, Rebecca pulled an animated excited face as she excitedly shared her happy news and in another, she protectively cradled her baby bump as she looked down towards her growing belly.

And it was her younger brother who was first to respond. The actor wrote in the comments section: "I’m gonna be an uncle." He also shared his older sister's post to his own Instagram Story and wrote: "Can't believe I'm going to be an uncle."
