Coronation Street's grieving Kate Connor's letter to Rana revealed - and fans are in tears

Coronation Street have shared Kate Connor's letter to Rana Habeeb - and it's as heartbreaking as you can imagine.

Nurse Rana devastatingly died just hours before she was set to wed the love of her life.

She had been retrieving something for Kate in Underworld when the factory roof collapsed, trapping her inside.

Tonight, the ITV soap aired her funeral and, on Instagram , shared Kate's letter to Rana. Get the tissues ready!

It read:

"Rana,⠀

I hate that I have to write this letter. It's not fair that I can't say these things to you everyday. I wish I'd said them more when I could. Losing Aidan was like losing a limb, but losing you feels like my heart's been ripped out. I wonder if it'll ever beat the same again. ⠀

I love you so much.⠀

We were going to grow old together, have kids we could embarrass and grandkids we could spoil rotten. We were going to have it all, and now I have nothing. Our time together wasn't long enough but it meant everything to me.⠀

Thank you for loving me.⠀

I'll never forget you, or stop loving you.⠀

Forever yours,⠀

Kate x."

And fans were in bits, flooding the comments with heartbroken and crying emojis.

One wrote: "Heart broken all over again."

While another remarked: "I could not imaging losing my wife on our wedding day."

A third remarked: 'I’ve not watched corrie for a while due to one thing or another but tonite the first half half I have done nothing but cried ."
