Coronation Street's Georgia Taylor pictured with on-screen lover after split

Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor has been pictured enjoying a day out with her former on-screen husband following the news of her split from her partner of 14 years.

Georgia, 42, and 33-year-old Charlie De Melo, who played her on-screen lover Imran Habeeb, were spotted walking arm-in-arm around Manchester.

It comes after Georgia quietly split from partner Mark Letheren in July 2022, with the pair moving out of the home they shared together.

Charlie played Imran on Corrie from 2017 until 2022, who was in a relationship with Georgia's character Toyah Battersby.

Georgia and Charlie smiled and chatted away as they enjoyed their walk around Manchester before heading into a coffee shop, pictures from The Sun show.

Imran and Toyah appeared to be in a stable, happy relationship for years until he took on foster daughter Kelly Neelan's case, in which she was falsely accused of murdering Seb Franklin.

After the court case, Imran had a one night stand with Abi, who became pregnant with their son Alfie. Initially, Toyah forgave her husband and after a lengthy battle, got custody of baby Alfie.

Charlie's character died after he and Toyah were involved in a car crash, which she survived. It later emerged that Toyah had caused the crash on purpose and was arrested and charged with careless driving. She was also arrested for his murder, but found not guilty.

Georgia's ex-partner Mark - who previously starred as Simon Kitson in The Bill - hinted at the break-up in an emotional social media post at the end of 2022.

He wrote at the time: “It’s been the worst year after a number of increasingly s**t years. My life finally fell apart.

“Thankfully, I’m incredibly lucky and have a family who have picked up the pieces and are trying to help me re-build myself.

“It’s thanks to them I’m still here and trying to move forward. For that I am truly grateful.

“Whatever the new year brings I hope that strength, humility, joy and love are in abundance for you all.”

Georgia previously spoke about how she first met Mark when she appeared on Lorraine Kelly's ITV daytime show.

"We saw you in Law and Order, we saw you in Blackpool, and of course we saw you in Casualty, so many other things that you did," Lorraine said. "I mean it’s great to have you back and I love the fact that in Casualty, you know you always make friends on set, that’s where you met your husband, which is rather lovely. The two of you being in sort of the same job, it’s really nice that."

Georgia pointed out that she wasn't married to her partner but said that they "practically are" because they had been together so long.

Apologising, Lorraine said: "Oh I’m so sorry! I keep doing this!"

"That’s okay," Georgia replied. "We met, he was a sort of semi-regular character, he was playing a councillor ironically, which is then what Toyah ended up doing. We met, gosh 13 years ago. So yeah, got him out of the job and lots of friends and it was a really good time."
