Coronation Street's Elle Mulvaney declares love for Hollyoaks star

Coronation Street's Elle Mulvaney has declared her love for the star of a rival soap as she shared an Instagram update on Sunday.

Having played Amy since 2010, Elle was just eight when she joined the cobbles, though her character is younger than she is. And the star, who is 20, while her character is 18, looked a far cry from Steve and Tracey's daughter as she posed for some mirror selfies this weekend.

Elle wore her hair in soft waves that framed her face, with a natural makeup look. The actress wore a multi-coloured top and light jeans as she headed out with friends.

Captioning the post on social media, Elle simply said: "hey". Fans were quick to compliment the star, but it was the comments of a Hollyoaks cast member that left Elle feeling the love.

Anya Lawrence, who plays Vicky in the Chester-based soap, said: "love you beautiful girlll x" [sic], to which Elle replied: "love you!! x".

Elle has received rafts of praise and support for a current storyline, after her Weatherfield alter ego Amy Barlow was raped by someone she thought was a friend. After she shared a photo from the soap, many fans flooded to the comments section.

Georgie said: "Thank you for addressing this issue. Always tackling hard topics", while Christopher said: "Proud of you Elle, keep up the great work". Megan said: "Elle you are so talented and bring so much to the show".
