Coronation Street spoilers reveal concern for newcomer Elaine next week, as Geoff Metcalfe's former wife goes missing.
Just days after unveiling her true identity, it seems she could be in danger from her abusive ex husband.
Elaine, real name Phillipa, is confirmed to be the first wife of Geoff who he claimed died years ago.
Not only that, but she's the real mother of Geoff's son Tim - another thing he lied about after she vanished almost 50 years ago.
Geoff has always claimed his second wife Tess was Tim's mother, but the truth came out on the ITV soap on Monday night.
Elaine gave up her life in hiding to support Yasmeen, Geoff's current wife, after learning of her own ordeal.
But this could be something she pays the price for, after a showdown with Geoff leads to the terrified character going missing.
Yasmeen is in prison, charged with attempted murder, after she attacked Geoff with a glass bottle as he pushed her too far.
Months of coercive control, manipulation and isolation led to Yasmeen lashing out, while Geoff has managed to fool son Tim and others into believing that she was the abuser.
After confessing her real identity and vowing to stand up to Geoff, next week sees the character tell Tim's wife Sally Metcalfe who she really is.
Sally encourages her to keep trying with Tim, and she decides to go and visit him at work.
But when she gets there, evil Geoff is waiting for her.
Later in the week, Sally tries to encourage Tim to accept Elaine might be telling the truth, with him slowly starting to question everything.
Yasmeen's granddaughter Alya is left worried about Elaine though, and even reports her missing to the police.
When the police come knocking for Geoff, he continues to claim he doesn't know who Elaine is and that his ex-wife Phillipa is dead.
Sally suspects otherwise though and begs him to tell the truth.
Geoff soon claims Alya encouraged Elaine to make the whole things up, but Sally is having none of it and begs Tim to listen to her.
Tim refuses though, warning her not to make him choose between them.
Geoff eventually admits he did have a run-in with Elaine before she went missing, but again says it was to tell her to stop spreading her lies.
Tim appears to believe him, tearing up Elaine's phone number and telling his wife to stop interfering - but what has happened to Elaine?
