Coronation Street's eight crying babies is causing chaos on set as crew 'struggle to film'

Coronation Street's crew are reportedly struggling to film with eight crying babies on set.

Weatherfield's Chesney Brown and Gemma Winter recently welcomed quadruples Aled, Carys, Lilo and Bryn together.

And as well as the characters finding it difficult to cope with the quartet, so are the crew.

That's because there needs to be two babies for every baby character for legal reasons - meaning that there are eight in total on set for filming.

As a result, filming is reportedly in chaos as shooting keeps getting delayed.

A source told The Sun: "They have to have more than just four babies and have stand-ins for legal reasons so they can rotate.

"The problem is the babies start crying and the filming gets delayed. One starts crying then the others all follow."

The insider explained that there are usually strict time limits for each scene and crew members are becoming increasingly frustrated with the delays.

They added: "After several attempts recently to film some scenes they ran out of time that they have legally allowed to have minors on set. It’s a nightmare."

The source added that another big problem was that when the babies start crying on set their mothers can't comfort them because they aren't allowed on set during filming due to union rules.

Mirror TV has contacted Corrie for comment.
