Coronation Street fans will be weeping into their tissues next week when Ken Barlow's beloved dog Eccles dies in heartbreaking scenes.
And what makes it even more devastating is that Ken doesn't get a chance to even say goodbye.

The border terrier first appeared on the cobbles in 2006 when a friend of Blanche's died and the dog was left to her in her will.
When Blanche died, she in turn left Eccles to Ken in her will.
But next week, Emma takes Eccles and Rover, her dad Steve's Jack Russell, for a walk when she notices that Eccles doesn't seem like herself.
Dev suggests that she take Eccles to the vet and, sadly, they confirm that the dog has an inoperable tumour.
The vet says that the kindest thing to do is to put her to sleep.
When Ken, Tracy, Steve and Amy rush to the vets, they are utterly devastated to discover that Eccles is dead.
Later, still mourning Eccles, Ken is furious when Norris lets slip that Charles made some nasty comments about Eccles.
Ken is spurred into action and vows to take a stand against Charles and stand against him in the election.
Eccles had a brush with death two years ago after he was previously poisoned with slug repellent hidden in some sausages, which had been planted by Simon's nemesis Tyler Jefferies.
Thankfully, he was saved when he was found in the backyard of No. 1 by Toyah Battersby.
