Coronation Street's dying Sinead leaves heartbreaking final message for baby son Bertie

Coronation Street airs heartbreaking scenes this week, with Sinead Tinker passing away after losing her battle with cancer.

The next few episodes will see her final days, with the character, played by actress Katie McGlynn, deteriorating as her death appraoches.

In a particularly moving scene previewed on This Morning on Tuesday, Sinead fights back tears as she records a message for her baby son Bertie to see when he's older.

She talks of not getting to meet his first partner and see him grow up, but she promises to always be with him in scenes that are difficult to watch.

Sharon Marshall aired the clip during her This Morning soap segment, with host Ruth Langsford admitting she couldn't bare it.

In the clip, Sinead tells her son in a message recorded on her laptop: "I won't get to meet your first girlfriend, or boyfriend.

"I know, that's really rubbish. I want you to know, I'll be there in spirit, I will."

Sinead will discover Bethany's notebook at the flat, with her short story about Daniel written in it for her writing course.

She will suspect from the story that Bethany is in love with her husband, before confronting him about their relationship.

It all gets too much for the couple as they end up rowing when Daniel reveals the truth, before they eventually make amends.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
