Coronation Street's David jailed for FOUR months - but fans are FURIOUS over Nick's sentence

David Platt was sentenced to eight months, four of which he has to serve in prison, tonight on Coronation Street .

But it was Nick Tilsley's sentence that left fans seething with rage this evening.

Despite being the mastermind behind nicking all of grandmother Audrey Roberts' cash as well as lying in court, Nick received a two-year suspended sentence.

The judge claimed that this was due to his previous good character, the effect prison could have on him considering his brain injury and those working in the factory relying on him for their jobs.

But fans were furious at the lack of justice in Nick not being jailed for the crime he committed.

One tweeted: "Is that really how it would work in real life? That Nick wouldn't serve a custodial sentence because he has a brain injury? I'm sorry, I'm all for taking disabilities into account - but that shouldn't equate no punishment. If true then our justice system is corrupt! #Corrie."

While another commented: "So the moral to the story is rip your gran off of all her money, lie like f***, blame your brother and then tell the truth and you’ll get off with it. Can’t be bad."

A third remarked: "I fail to see how nick COMPLETELY got off with that regardless of previous convictions? he didn’t just ‘nick’ a tenner of his gran, he stole 80k AND lied about it in court?! #corrie."

"Fuming!!! #corrie," one wrote.

Another commented: "Oh my god I’ve just thought of the fact that David’s gonna be in prison on the anniversary of his wife’s deathI’m completely not ok #Corrie."

A fan remarked: "Nick should be doing 8 Months not David it was all nick this is disgusting #Corrie."
