Coronation Street's Daniel contemplates suicide following wife Sinead's death

David Osbourne will feel so incredibly broken in the wake of wife Sinead's death that he contemplates suicide.

During tonight's Coronation Street , Sinead discovered that her cancer was back and had spread to her lymph nodes and liver.

Even more heartbreakingly, Sinead was given just three or four months left to live.

In harrowing spoiler pictures, Daniel is seen staggering around in a state, clutching a bottle of whisky as he struggles to deal with his grief.

The scenes, which will air after Sinead's death, show Daniel revert back to his self-destructive self as he hits the bottle hard.

However he later sits down on the cold hard floor by some beer barrels, bottle of booze sitting by his leg.

Daniel then looks at his son's dummy before passing out, the alcohol spilling all over the floor.

Considering his brother Peter is an alcoholic, could Sinead's death tip Daniel over the edge so that he shows signs of being an alcoholic too?

But will Daniel's son Bertie be able to stop him from completely self-destructing?

And how will his family be able to help him?

*Coronation Street returns on Friday at 7.30pm for an hour-long episode
