Coronation Street's Colson Smith sheds over a stone and debuts trim frame

Coronation Street star Colson Smith looks absolutely incredible following his one and a half stone weight loss.

The soap star, who is best known for playing Craig Tinker on the ITV hit, debuted his new physique at the end of March as he made an appearance at The Television and Radio Industries Club Awards.

The 21-year-old has continued to flaunt his new frame on Instagram as he stays at home with his family amid the lockdown.

Colson stepped out for his daily run on Friday and looked amazing as he dressed head-to-toe in gym gear.

Feeling good after his intense workout, the star penned: "Bank Holiday run done. Feet up & some family time while staying at home now! Have a good un folks"

The famous actor first showcased his impressive new look at a showbiz event before the lockdown was imposed.

He stepped out on the red carpet looking noticeably trimmer in a tight-fitting suit.

Colson's weight loss journey kick started in December after losing the drastic amount of weight from food poisoning.

The TV star ignored advice to not eat seafood while he was holidaying in Thailand, and ended up shedding one and a half stone.

Speaking on his podcast Sofa Cinema Club alongside co-stars Jack P Shepherd and Ben Price, he explained: "I was in Ko Lanta. I was sat on the beach and the waiter came over and was like, 'What would you like?' And I said, 'I'll have the prawns to start please.'

"I had avoided seafood [on Ben's advice] but I was sat on the beach and I was like, 'How can you not have seafood on the beach?'

"Well, anyway. I'm not doing that again. I've lost about a stone and a half."

Colson was only able to eat a banana and three slices of toast for a whole week as he recovered from the illness.

His weight loss was further spurred on by his role in Corrie, as his police officer character Craig had to chase shoplifters on the soap, and so he took up running.

But it seems the actor has consistently kept at his fitness journey, in a much healthier way, while he's holed up at home in lockdown.
