Coronation Street's Colson Smith flaunts weight loss on show for first time

Colson Smith has shocked fans with his amazing weight loss transformation as he appeared on Coronation Street tonight.

On screen, his police officer character has taken up running after finding he was out of breath while chasing shoplifters.

Craig Tinker told his friends he was going to make an effort to get healthier after being bullied at work.

During Coronation Street's break from filming due to coronavirus, Colson revealed he lost 10 stone.

And viewers complimented the star as he appeared on screen tonight.

Pat said: "How good is #Craig looking in #corrie @itvcorrie."

Susie wrote: "Oh my goodness Craig - looking fantastic! What a difference!!"

Roz tweeted: "Has Craig needed a whole new uniform? Gone down several sizes I reckon. Well done!"

And Jayne said: "Craig looks absolutely amazing, well done."

Colson spoke about his weight loss on his weekly podcast Sofa Cinema Club.

He also addressed the change that he has made to his fair red hair as well as revealing he has taken up running.

The 21-year-old said he was worried there would be a continuity issue when he returned to the ITV soap.

Colson said: "We are in direct continuity, but I've almost lost about 10 stone since we left work so I'm not sure that (my hair) is going to be the biggest of their issues.

"I might be wearing a wig and a fat suit when we go back."
