Coronation Street's Chesney rushes wife Briony to hospital after complaints of 'crippling pain'

Coronation Street's Sam Ashton rushed his wife to hospital after she complained of 'crippling pain'.

Sam, who plays Chesney Brown in the soap, was enjoying a Sunday night in with Briony when her back and stomach started to ache.

Briony revealed all in an Instagram post, saying how Sam helped her dash to hospital.

She said: "Last Sunday me and Sam sat in bed with a cup of tea binge watching Unbelievable (seriously great show on Netflix) with both doggies under the covers and we discussed having the perfect, cosy Sunday.

"Then I started to get crippling pains in my back and belly. Long story short: Sam took me to hospital where I was given morphine for what we think was kidney stones and that ruined our Sunday dream.

"So we’re living and loving it this week instead, morning yoga, fabulous dog, walk, (re)make cinnamon buns, have a roast dinner, slob out on the couch, read by the fire.

"I hope you’re all having a happy (kidney stone free) Sunday.

"(PS. before the meds, the nurse basically turned into a yoga teacher and taught me how to breathe, because somehow despite teaching breath-work about 17 times a week I somehow forgot how to breathe) nurses rock."

Sam, 25, and his now wife Briony have been together for seven years and recently celebrated their anniversary with a slap-up meal at a posh restaurant - described as Rochdale's number one fine dining destination.
