Coronation Street's Charlotte Jordan poses with Spice Girl in throwback from pop past

Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan looks almost the same in a throwback photo taken around the time that she was a member of a short-lived pop group as a teenager.

The 26-year-old actor, who plays Daisy Midgeley on the ITV soap, was once part of an unnamed girl band - having been a member of the musical group around a decade ago.

The group - which she has said wasn't ever given an official name by its management or members - is understood to have been put together in 2012 when she was 16 years old.

She joined the group after having taken an interest in the performing arts as a child, later pursing acting and music.

The band is said to have been formed by Spice Girls favourite Geri Horner, according to T he Sun.

A photo shared by Charlotte from the time shows her with 'Ginger Spice' - then known by her maiden name, Geri Halliwell, prior to her marriage to Christian Horner in 2015.

The selfie, which was posted on Instagram in 2014, shows the actor pouting alongside Geri - who is now 49 - with Charlotte easily recognisable in the photo, though younger.

The actor - whose credits include Netflix 's Free Rein and the BBC 's Casualty - previously spoke about her experience in the band with the Mirror earlier this year.

Charlotte said she was with the band for more than two years, but they didn't released a single during that time.

She said: "We never even got launched in the end. We did choreography, we bonded and developed a rapport and recorded a bunch of songs, but we never released a single."

They "never even settled on a name," she said, adding: "We went through so many different names that eventually the management just referred to us as The Band."

The actor described the experience as having been "quite the learning curve" and explained that she later attempt to make it as a solo artist in the music industry.
