Coronation Street's Charlie Condou fears he has long Covid after losing use of fingers

Charlie Condou has shared his fears that he’s suffering the effects of long Covid.

The Coronation Street star, 48, took to Twitter on Thursday to reveal his self-diagnosis with fans.

Long Covid is a condition in which coronavirus survivors still suffer some of the symptoms of the virus weeks – or even months – after they originally contracted it.

The actor, who previously played Marcus Dent in the long-running ITV soap, said that he has been experiencing incredible pain before he quizzed his followers for further knowledge.

The soap star pleaded with fans to share any information they may have on the relation to Covid and nerve damage.

“I’ve been suffering from something that is looking more and more like long Covid since October,’ he revealed in the social media update.

“But since Christmas Eve I’ve had incredible pain in my arm and have lost the use of my thumb/forefinger.

“Has anyone heard of nerve damage in relation to long Covid?”.

After sharing his health update, fans flocked to Twitter to reassure the former Corrie star.

One fan told Charlie that their brother had been experiencing the same symptoms in his hands, and the same ‘incredible pain’ too.

Another replied: “Charlie I’ve also currently got this in my left arm - the doctor diagnosed this on the phone as frozen shoulder/capsulitis - the pain is excruciating. But now reading this wondering if it’s something else?”

A third fan shared: “I never had a positive test (was sick back in March 2020) but have long covid. I have nerve pain in my left arm and leg and pins and needles in my left hand and left foot.”

Meanwhile, others shared messages of support with Charlie.

“Get well soon love. This too shall pass,” encouraged one admirer.

“Hopefully you’ll feel better soon,” another added.
