Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley supported by fans as she shares huge weight loss

A former Coronation Street star has been applauded by her followers and celebrity friends after showing off her massive weight loss. Catherine Tyldesley, best known for having played Eva Price on the soap, has declared "she's back" after sharing a snap of herself on social media.

The former soap star also shared a string of images of her second child Iris, following her difficult second pregnancy and birth in April last year. Cath can be seen baring her abs for the camera whilst wearing a black crop top and gym leggings, reports The Manchester Evening News.

The caption said: "She’s back!!!!! The later pics... This time last year I was 2.5 stones heavier. I’d given birth a few weeks ago and didn’t recognise myself anymore.

"I suffered with hyperemesis and hormonal insomnia throughout my pregnancy. Which meant I averaged around 2 hours sleep a night for 6 months. We tried everything to help me sleep/feel better and nothing worked. I felt dreadful.

"Whilst I was pregnant with Alfie I felt great and was weight training till I was 8 months pregnant. I felt strong and recovery was so fast. With Iris I felt so weak and vulnerable. Combined with two failed epidurals and needing plenty of rehabilitation for my spine and pelvis - recovery has been much longer this time."

Cath also shares her son Alfie with her husband Tom Pitfield. The post went on to say: "But I’m finally back to my PB at the gym and feeling stronger and fitter than ever.

"It’s been really hard at times but for me - But - having children means I want to give them the best version of me, and I want to live for as long as I can. I train and eat well for me AND them.

"I train so I’m mentally and physically strong for whatever role I play next. I train so I can feel good about myself. I train to relieve stress. I train so I sleep better. It’s been worth the slog- and I’m showing up each day to maintain things- mentally and physically."

The actress finished her post by sharing her support to those who may be feeling how she did. Cath wrote: "Mommas… I know it’s hard right now- but you CAN feel like you again. Keep going!!!! Do not give up!! Show up for yourself AND the kids," she penned.

Gemma Atkinson, who is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second child, responded to the post simply with a string of raising hands emojis in support. Similarly, former Queen of the Jungle Giovanna Fletcher said: "Back like she never left!!! What a journey! Xxxx."

Former Emmerdale star Anthony Quinlan added: "Yes Cath! Looking mega." Cath's fans and followers were also quick to share their praise.

One fan said: "Yes!! You have motivated me so many times. You look incredible." A second wrote: "Well done you. Looking fabulous."

A third replied: "Love this post. You look happy, healthy and strong. Well done. #hardworkpayoff." Whilst another commented: "You looked amazing before but glad your back to your old self and feeling great and looking [fire emoji]."
