Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley 'in talks' for Strictly Come Dancing

Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley is reportedly in talks to appear on Strictly Come Dancing this year.

The actress, 35, who left the ITV soap in 2018, is rumoured to be cobbling together a deal to appear on the BBC talent show this autumn.

She has previously revealed she's a big fan of the series, but has concerns over her lack of ability on the dance floor.

However, producers are said to be keen to sign her up.

A source told The Sun : "Producers think she’ll be a great signing because of her strong fan following and her bubbly personality. They can see her going far in the competition.”

Catherine recently dropped a huge hint she could turn up on Strictly this year.

She told Hello! magazine: "I'm such a fan. At some point I would love to do it.

"I can't dance and have never had the confidence - I usually only hit the dance floor after a couple of drinks.

"But it's something I've always wanted to learn. It's an amazing skill to have. So I might pop up at some point."

Catherine is best known for playing Eva price in Corrie (BBC)

She also previously appeared on the show in November as a star guest to read out the terms and conditions with Claudia Winkleman.

If Catherine gets picked for the 2019 line-up, she'll follow in the footsteps of plenty of her former Corrie co-stars.

Previous contestants from the Cobbles include Georgia May Foote and Tina O'Brien.
