Coronation Street legend Bill Roache celebrated his 88th birthday today while in lockdown at his family home.
However the soap star, who has appeared as Ken Barlow since 1960, seemed like he was having a great time as he spent the day with his family.
Sharing a picture of Bill with his son James and daughter Verity alongside a hoard of presents and balloons, the ITV soap sent their best wishes to the soap icon.
Corrie's official Twitter account tweeted: "Sending a massive thank you for all your warm wishes from Bill, who's celebrating his 88th birthday in lockdown at home with his family!"
Fans flocked to Twitter to wish Bill a happy birthday too, with one tweeting: "Happy Birthday to Bill and hello to his fit son."
While another commented: "These pictures are so beautiful hope he’s having a fantastic day."
A third remarked: "Happy birthday lovely Bill ☀️ xxx."
"Lovely photos, Happy Birthday Bill," another wrote.
One commented: "How does he still look so well at 88? Fair dos to the bloke! Happy Birthday, Bill."
Bill appeared in the first ever episode of Corrie back on 9 December 1960 and has appeared continuously ever since.
Over the years, his character Ken has been involved with numerous women and affairs, though his most enduring romance was undoubtedly with Deirdre.
Sadly, Deirdre was killed off in 2015 after actress Anne Kirkbride died from breast cancer earlier that year.
More recently, Ken was involved with salon owner Claudia, played by Rula Lenska.
However, after moving to Stillwaters, Ken realised he wasn't suited to retirement home life and broke up with Claudia before returning to the cobbles.
