Coronation Street 's Alison King has reportedly got engaged to her long-term mystery partner.
The actress, who plays Carla Connor in the ITV soap, is said to be betrothed after her beau, whose identity is unknown, popped the question.
It's believed Alison, who has been in Corrie on and off since 2006, got engaged earlier this month.
An insider has told The Sun that news of the impending nuptials has caused a lot of excitement amongst the cast, with Alison's friends Jane Danson and Kym Marsh left particularly titillated by the announcement.
They said: "Ali is so popular with everyone on the cobbles. They think it’s wonderful.
"The engagement is a lovely surprise. Ali is over the moon."
Alison shares a daughter with ex-fiancé Adam Huckett, who she dated from 2007 to 2012.
Since then, she's moved on to a mystery man whose identity has remained unknown even though she's been pictured with on a number of occasions.
The source added: "Ali has obviously endured heartache in the past. But she is hoping those days are now firmly behind her. She is very excited about what the future holds."
Alison's character is currently recovering from a mental breakdown, brought on by the collapse of her Underworld factory's roof, that caused the death of character Rana Habeeb.
