Captioning the post, he said: "It’s a rare occasion when I post a photo of myself so enjoy… also do you want to see more of this ugly mug? [cry-laughing emoji]"

Fellow Corrie star Jack James Ryan, who plays gang member Jacob Hay in the soap, was quick to comment.

Jack said: "Get that ugly mug off my timeline", to which Alex replied: "sozzles I shall snap it out of existence with immediate effect [cry-laughing emojis]."

Alex's girlfriend Mollie Lockwood also commented on the post, making a loving declaration.

She said: "I always love seeing your face"

A smitten Alex replied: "Not as much as I love seeing your beautiful face."

Alex split from his childhood sweetheart Levi Selby - with whom he shares a daughter - in 2019, and has since found love with Mollie.

The Corrie actor has posted many loved up snaps of the pair on his Instagram.

Commenting on one post, Mollie said: "Aww I miss you my squish you're my world."

Fans called them "couple goals" and a "cute pair".
