Coronation Street's Alan Halsall has paid tribute to his late co-stars who played Jack and Vera Duckworth.
The 37-year-old, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, remembered Bill Tarmey and Liz Dawn during a joint interview with on-screen partner Jennie McAlpine.
The Corrie stars appeared on This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to discuss the latest with Tyrone and Fizz on the Cobbles.
But Holly was sure to ask the pair about the comparison their characters have had to Jack and Vera after viewers saw in Monday night's episode Fizz realise that she and Tyrone are turning into the soap legends.
When asked by Holly if it's the biggest compliment they could ever receive, Alan replied: "Yes, absolutely.
"The first thing I think about when I think of Coronation Street is Jack and Vera, so I mean, I shy away from the comparisons because for me they’re on a pedestal up above us all, but it’s nice to be compared."
Alan joined Coronation Street in 1998 as Tyrone who moved in with the famous couple after being abandoned by his mother.
Bill died two years after his final appearance on the soap in 2010 and his on-screen wife Liz passed away in September 2017 after 34 years on the soap.
"I was so lucky just to be put with those two but I learned so much from them on-screen and off-screen," Alan added.
"I don't think I would be on Corrie without Bill and Liz.
"Bill drilled into me all my work ethic I have continued in his memory. I think about them all the time, I still have Bill’s watch and a painting Liz gave me.
"I miss them all the time, and I think about them a lot."
