Coronation Street is lining up an eating disorder storyline for teenager Summer Spellman, according to new spoilers for the ITV soap.
The teen is currently caught up in a plot with Daniel Osbourne that explodes later this month.
Summer has a huge crush on her mentor Daniel, while there is nothing romantic going on between them - amid his romance with Daisy Midgeley.
But upcoming scenes will see Max Turner, who Summer has been tutoring, spread rumours that Daniel has been abusing his position of power, and that he and Summer are secretly together.
Summer keeps a love poem Daniel wrote in her bag, liking to think it was for her even though it was not about her at all.
Her recent makeover to impress her teacher doesn't go unnoticed by teen Max, who has a crush of his own on Summer.
Jealous, he decides to expose the non-existent romance to the whole school at the ball in scenes to air next week.
Prior to this, Summer is lacking confidence and struggling with body issues, after seeing pictures of Daisy on social media.
Her pals Asha and Amy admire Daisy's tiny waist, leading to Summer putting her sandwich down and no longer eating her lunch.
It's when Max spots Daniel slipping an energy bar into Summer's bag after she nearly faints, that he goes snooping and finds the poem - believing it's from Daniel.
This all spirals into the big commotion at the ball, leaving Summer in turmoil and Daniel at risk of losing his job.
Later this month, Summer's issues with food will continue while no one is aware.
While at The Bistro with Billy, Summer feels guilty when he suggests they grab food after already eating a burger that day.
It comes moments after she once again scrolls through Daisy's photos online, which make her feel frumpy.
But will someone notice Summer's turmoil and reach out to her?
