Coronation Street bosses have drafted in a replacement actor as they remove all traces of sex offender actor Bruno Langley.
The shamed soap star, 37, was sacked from the soap back in 2017 after he sexually assaulted two women in a Manchester bar, and as his character is set to return to the cobbles next week - he will be replaced by actor Gareth Pierce.
And ahead of Todd's character returning to the cobbles, bosses of the popular soap have been careful to ensure that there are no sightings of former actor Bruno on set by replacing all the old snaps of Todd with images of Gareth.
With the help of photo editing software, the set team have been able to superimpose Gareth's childhood images onto photos of character Todd and his on-screen brother Ryan Thomas.
Gareth - who rose to fame on radio soap The Archers - shared on the continuity update in a recent chat with The Sun and dished on the photos that eagle-eyed soap fans are sure to be able to spot when tuning in.
He shared: "The on set family photos in the Grimshaws – all the Todd ones are from my childhood but mixed in with Ryan’s as Jason.
“So it oddly feels there’s brotherly connection even though we haven’t met.“
Disgraced star Bruno played Todd – Corrie’s first openly gay character – for 16 years before he was axed in 2017.
In an exclusive interview with the Sunday Mirror after his court shame, Bruno claimed he had been battling demons. He said: “I’ve been living way too fast for too long... My drinking had escalated. The wheels fell off. I wasn’t particularly happy.
“I’ve started going to see a counsellor and have been attending AA meetings and that’s helped.
“I have no excuse, no one forced me to drink to such an extreme, but it is hard to explain why I would do anything as dreadful as that.”
Since the court case, Langley has attended therapy sessions and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
