Coronation Street outrage as Deirdre's memory is tarnished in horrible scene

Coronation Street fans are outraged after witnessing Deirdre Barlow's memory being tarnished.

In horrible scenes, Ken Barlow's new girlfriend Claudia Colby started mocking his late wife, who died in July 2015.

Claudia temporarily moved into the Barlow family home and immediately forced Ken to start decluttering.

She couldn't understand why he wanted to keep a box of old glasses and said he had to be "ruthless" in throwing his treasured possessions away.

When Ken insisted he could not throw them away, Claudia replied: "Old specs? How can they bring joy?"

Revealing that they belonged to Deirdre, Ken replied: "She brought me joy."

This didn't perturb Claudia, who claimed: "I can’t believe these were ever on trend."

She was caught out by fuming Tracy while trying on her late mum's glasses.

"I came round for my car key and I find you making fun of my mother’s memory."

Turning to Ken, she added: "God, your standards have dropped."

Furious Corrie fans took to Twitter to blast Claudia for mocking Deirdre.

One viewer said: "How DARE you make fun of our Deirdre's glasses!!!"

"Claudia trying to chuck out Deirdre's glasses. Sacrilege," agreed another.

A third added: "Deirdre would be very proud of Tracy luv."

"Deirdre will haunt Claudia With her stuffed marrow," said a fourth.
