Coronation Street Nina and Seb attack leaves Phillip Schofield wincing at 'uncomfortable' scenes

This Morning host Phillip Schofield was left wincing in horror at 'uncomfortable to watch' Coronation Street scenes, with co-host Holly Willoughby equally distressed.

It was confirmed last month that Wetherfield youngsters Nina and Seb would be the victims of a brutal attack in an upcoming storyline, that will leave them hospitalised with serious injuries.

Coronation Street cast and crew have worked closely with The Sophie Lancaster Foundation on the harrowing storyline which will see Seb and Nina, niece of Roy Cropper, subjected to a violent assault which has similarities to what happened to Sophie in 2007, when she and her boyfriend Robert Maltby were set upon and beaten in a park simply because of the way they looked, with Sophie tragically dying as a result of her injuries.

Phillip and Holly were joined on Tuesday's This Morning by TV expert Sharon Marshall to preview what was coming up on soaps in the weeks ahead and the focus of her chat was what happens to Nina and Seb on Wednesday night's Corrie.

A scene from an upcoming episode saw them surrounded by a gang of teens as so called friend Kelly slapped Nina hard across the face.

Gang leader Corey then said "you going to let them walk off just like that? That freak!" as Seb and Nina tried to escape before things take a violent turn.

Reacting to the footage, Holly exclaimed: "That's horrible," before Phillip reacted: "yikes! That's uncomfortable to watch."

He then asked Sharon: "so are the attackers going to be caught?" to which she replied: "You can see there that it's people we know. It's Kelly that did the slap and it's Corey's gang.

"It's a very brutal attack and it's so bad that she (Nina) doesn't have any memory of what happened.

"The pair are in hospital with life threatening injuries.

"Will the right people be brought to justice? Dark scenes but great work."
