Coronation Street newcomer Scott's dark side exposed as Carla confession unnerves Peter

Mysterious Coronation Street newcomer Scott's dark side was exposed tonight as his confession about Carla Connor left her lover Peter Barlow unnerved.

Ever since Scott appeared on the cobbles, fans have speculated over his link to Carla and his sour relationship with her dad Johnny.

And the speculation intensified after he beat up the druggies who had tried to blackmail Carla.

Tonight, Scott was at odds with Peter after he slammed him for going behind his back.

Later, Peter confronted Scott - and was left unnerved after Scott let slip how he had taught those blackmailing Carla a 'lesson'.

Peter told Scott away from the bar: "You were out of order back then, sticking your nose in like that. It's family business, private."

"You were chatting in front of the punters in the pub," Scott replied. "How's that private?"

"The fact is that you shouldn't be interfering in things that don't concern you," Peter reiterated.

Scott retorted: "I was just surprised, that's all."

Confused, Peter asked: "Surprised about what?"

"Like I said, the way you dropped your missus in it," Scott said.

"You're talking rubbish," Peter replied vehemently.

Scott continued: "Then again, from what I've seen you're not one to stick your neck out for her, are you?"

Peter replied: "What's that supposed to mean? I've always got Carla's back."

"Not enough to get your hands dirty though, eh?" Scott retorted. "Talk is cheap, mate."

Peter said: "What do you mean?"

"You didn't even bother to sort out those idiots who were threatening your missus," Scott snarled. "Someone else had to do it. What's the face for? They were smack heads. From what I heard they had it coming."

Who is Scott and what is his relation to Carla?
