If there's one mash-up we didn't see coming - it was this one.
In a rather bizarre twist, Coronation Street's Beth and Kirk Sutherland revealed that they were swapping the cobbles of Weatherfield for the sun-kissed Spanish island of Majorca and the home of the Love Island villa.
The Underworld couple announced they were heading off for the summer. Or at least Beth did.
The outspoken character said in Wednesday night's double-bill: "We're going on Love Island with our bonus - aren't we Kirky?"
But her bewildered hubby replied: "Are we?"
And it seems their pals didn't hold out much hope for the couple on the ITV2 reality show.
Sean Tully said: "I don’t want to rain on your parade but I doubt you two would make the final cut."
Before Sally Metcalfe made a savage dig at the popular show: "I can't think of anything worse on television."
Turns out though, it was all a bit of a mis-understanding.
"Not the TV show," Beth explained. "We'll go to Majorca where they film it. Rent out a luxury villa and make our own Love Island - won't we babe?"
Better yet, in typical Corrie humour, they even mocked up pictures of what it would look like if the couple did head off for a summer of sun, love and plenty of drama.
The ITV soaps official Twitter account posted: "Got a text!
"Can Beth and Kirk recouple in @loveisland!?
"It is what it is..."
And it seems fans were quite up for the spin-off.
"Kirk and Beth on love island I'd love to see that," tweeted one fan.
Another added: "Beth and Kirk on Love Island would be an @itvcorrie spin off i'd love to see."
However, a few were a bit more cynical.
One commented: "Keeping dreaming about love island."
"Kirk and Beth will never get on love island," a second said.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2. Coronation Street is on Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
