Coronation Street love rivals Tyrone and Phil go on 'date' to the footie

Alan Halsall and his on-screen love rival have shared some happy selfies after they enjoyed a mate date at the footie.

An avid Manchester United fan, the Tyrone Dobbs actor was joined at Wednesday night's Champions League game by Jamie Kenna.

The pair watched the Reds at Old Trafford where they managed to seal a 3-2 comeback win against Atalanta.

Alan and Jamie, who plays Tyrone's ex's new man Phil, sipped on champagne like VIPs at the game.

"Great night!! … with great company and a win," Alan shared alongside the snap with his Instagram followers. "Up the reds @manchesterunited."

He then teased his co-star by adding: "Hi @andywhy36," as he too is a big United fan.

Jamie also shared a picture to his Instagram story of him and Alan outside the ground, writing: "Date night with @alanhalsall @manchesterunited v Atalanta #championsleague."

He then gave a glimpse at his evening which included red wine, beers, a hot food buffet and even a cheese board at half-time.

"This is how to watch football @AlanHalsall #prawnsandwhichbrigade," he commented before sharing a selfie of them in the ground and videos of them getting into the supporter spirit.

But Corrie fans were quick to comment on Alan's post.

"Celebrating with fizzes new boyfriend shocking Tyrone," joked one.

Another said: "Does fizz know who you're out with by any chance @alanhalsall."

A third laughed: "@alanhalsall u wanna watch that 1, he's after fizz."

Jamie joined the soap as Fiz Stape's new love interest following her shock split from Tyrone.

Viewers saw the machinist left heartbroken when fiance Tyrone Dobbs left her to be with Alina Pop.

But the Corrie team drafted in Hollywood star Jamie to play Fiz's new flame.

The 47-year-old actor is probably best recognised for his role in football hooligan film Green Street where he played Big Marc.

He has also appeared in Stormbreaker and The Bank Job as well as rival soap EastEnders.

Jamie played Vince Franks in the BBC soap, the father of school bully Jez Franks who came up against Phil for his son's actions.
