Soap star Kimberly Hart-Simpson has confirmed her mum has been rushed to hospital after a serious accident.
The Coronation Street actress, who plays Nicky Wheatley on the ITV show, wrote: "Perspective. This week online it looks like a wonderful life."
Nicky will be back on the cobbles with Kimberly reprising her role in the New Year, Birmingham Live reports.
The actress added: "Reality; it is - but it's fragile. Mumzy had a serious accident and between Keeping up appearances, hospital visits and the dogs asking what's for dinner I haven't had time to feel festive or reply to you all thanking you for your kind words on this week's post.
"But I appreciate you.
"There is this nurse on the ward who comes in singing to her patients dancing giving it big beans at all times.
"And I know that she is trained to save lives but it's like she injects life too."
She added: "Thank you to the NHS for looking after several family members this month and let's all be like that nurse."
