Coronation Street set for killer Christmas as stars lift lid on festive scripts

Coronation Street could be in for a very turbulent holiday season this year amid fears there could be a major death in Weatherfield.

With Christmas fast approaching, the stars of the ITV soap have finally got their hands on the festive scripts and dropped major hints about all the drama.

Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz Brown, refused to say if someone is getting killed off, but hinted there are going to be some major shocks.

She told The Daily Star : "I've read the script for Christmas Eve.

"It's quite dramatic. I'm not sure if Ill be getting any turkey this year. Fiz is going to be quite busy!

"I can't say if anyone dies. If I told someone that, I'd have to kill them!"

Jenny Bradley actress Sally Ann Matthews, added: "I've just received scripts for Christmas.

"What I can say is it's beyond dramatic.

"It's big and edge-of-your-seat stuff. It's not just one story either. There are several big stories happening."

Later, she warned: "We usually have feelgood Christmas episodes. And this year it certainly starts off that way.

"People will want to tune in for it on Christmas Day. My advice is not to have too much turkey and eggnog so you'll still be awake enough to watch it!"

A certain controversial wedding will be hanging over Weatherfield as well.

Kym Marsh's Michelle Connor is set to walk down the aisle in December to wed Tristan Gemmill's love rat Robert Preston.

Except that Robert's also engaged to Vicky Jefferies - who's also carrying his child.

After their first tragic attempt to get married - last year's ceremony saw beautiful bride Michelle shot by serial killer Pat Phelan.

A source revealed of their second try at marriage: "The climax of this storyline has been months in the making and viewers will not be disappointed.

"It's going to be unmissable television."

Meanwhile, former cast member Catherine Tyldesley has headed over to the Beeb for Strictly Come Dancing .

After the dancing contest's fourth week, she's seventh on the leader board after her Charleston to Beyonce's Single Ladies.
