Coronation Street in 'daylight robbery' price outrage

Coronation Street fans were stunned when Gary Windass appeared to be highly overcharged for a bunch of flowers.

Gary was forced to buy flowers after he was caught rifling through the florist shop by Mary Taylor.

Corrie florist Mary was less than impressed when she caught Gary searching her new desk drawers for missing cash after claiming he was there to buy a bloom for his ex Izzy Armstrong.

He explained that when she bought the drawers from his furniture shop it contained money belonging to him.

But instead of letting him off lightly, when Izzy arrived at the shop she guilt-tripped him by telling her he was there to treat her, and he was forced to put his hand in his pocket - but viewers were amazed when Mary charged him £25 for a rather small bunch.

"£25 for flowers!" exclaimed one viewer on Twitter.

"£25 for them!! You could get them for £3.50 at Sainsburys (other supermarkets are available," said another.

"£25 for that tiny bunch of basic flowers?! Would cost three quid in a supermarket! Daylight robbery!" cried another viewer.

And another tweeted: "Mary charged Gary £25:for those flowers! At least Dick Turpin wore a mask."

New Corrie villain Gary was agitated when he discovered Ryan Connor had sold the desk with £650 hidden inside.

He realises that he's underestimated Gary when he threatens to call the police, and Ryan admits he took the money but swears he had no idea it was Gary’s.

Builder turned bad boy loan shark Gary tells him he can pay it back plus interest.
