Coronation Street aired distress for Gemma Winter on Monday night, as the character feared she had harmed her baby son as she struggled to cope with motherhood.
Gemma has been left exhausted since the birth of her baby quadruplets recently, and is so worried about them she's convinced herself she might harm them, amid her ongoing mental health battle.
Not yet reaching out to partner Chesney brown for help, she did confide in her mum Bernie after nearly pushing the babies out in front of a car in a recent episode.
But things took a horrifying turn yet again on Monday night, as the episode started with Gemma wanting her crying baby boy Aled to be quiet.
Gemma was shown heading downstairs in the dark, while it soon became clear she was dreaming.

But fans were horrified as, in the dream, the character put her baby son in the washing machine, while the scene wasn't directly shown.
Suddenly Gemma woke up in bed alarmed, fearing the worst that she may have killed her son.
Not realising it was a nightmare, she raced over to the quads' cots only to find baby Aled missing.

She screamed out for him, before running downstairs to check the machine.
Luckily Chesney was downstairs cradling his baby boy, with Gemma realising it wasn't real and she hadn't hurt him.
She still refused to open up though, leaving fans concerned.

Later on as things got too much, Gemma appeared to look at the washing machine as all four babies began crying and screaming.
Gemma decided to get some fresh air, heading out into the garden as her children cried in doors.
But suddenly the door shut behind her, and she couldn't get back in to them.
Viewers felt for the character as she feared something would happen to her babies with her not there.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
