Coronation Street heartache as Oliver placed on life support sparking fears he may die

Coronation Street airs heartbreaking scenes next week, as little Oliver Battersby is rushed to hospital and placed in intensive care.

Doctors decide to put the unwell child, 3, on a life support machine, as he takes a turn for the worse.

Leanne Battersby's son began suffering seizures earlier this year before she and Oliver's dad Steve McDonald learned the devastating news that he was seriously ill.

Doctors confirmed he had mitochondrial disease, and that he had an incurable form of it.

Leanne has struggled to cope in recent scenes, but she, Steve and her partner Nick Tilsley have vowed to give Oliver the best life possible.

As his parents plan their holiday trip to Cornwall, his seizure alarm goes off leading to a hospital dash.

But Nick and Steve don't share her optimism that he will pull through.

As the trio wait for further updates and pray that Oliver makes it, will the little one survive?
