Coronation Street harrowing scenes as Bethany Platt's grooming hell comes back to haunt her

Bethany Platt's grooming hell comes back to haunt her in harrowing scenes on Coronation Street.

The past rears its ugly head next week when a family arrives at the Bistro, and Bethany recognises the dad as one of the abusers from Nathan Curtis' parties.

Bethany was trapped for months by evil Nathan, who posed as her boyfriend.

And in a horrific turn of events Bethany's friend Craig Tinker, who helped to send Nathan and his gang to prison, ends up being hit by the family’s car as they flee the bistro after a dramatic showdown.

In 2017 Bethany was raped and groomed by older man Nathan and his sordid gang of friends, including policeman Neil Clifton, and he was jailed for rape and conspiracy to rape.

In another harrowing chapter for her character the following year she started dancing for punters in a strip club in a bid to claim back control over men.

While dancing for a groom on his stag party the teen had a terrifying flashback to Nathan and she lashed out with a broken bottle, glassing him in the face.

The police were called and Bethany was arrested but the groom decided not to press charges.

Then just as we thought her ordeal was over, friendly waitress Kayla was exposed as being the daughter of Neil and she held Bethany hostage to get revenge for her dad being in prison.

And Special Constable Craig Tinker battled Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, an anxiety disorder where people feel the need to check, perform routines or have certain thoughts repeatedly.

The catalyst for the disorder was getting a time wrong while giving evidence at Nathan's trial.
