Coronation Street first look as Stephanie Davis makes debut as Courtney ahead of steamy Aadi affair

Coronation Street has shared the first look at Stephanie Davis' first scenes on the cobbles as she prepares to make her debut. The actress will be seen making her first appearance in Weatherfield next week as Courtney Vance, the glamorous wife of Darren, one of Dev Alahan's new business associates.

And it was revealed at the time of her casting announcement that 30-year-old Stephanie, who will be known to soap fans for playing Sinead O'Connor in Channel 4's Hollyoaks, will be involved in the ITV soap's latest affair storyline with her new character.

Spoilers for next week's Corrie reveal that Dev's son Aadi will be seen flirting with Amy Barlow as she arrives for work at the corner shop after getting a job alongside the pal while his sister Asha and Nina Lucas have already realised that Aadi’s got a crush on Amy.

So when Dev reveals that Asha is going to show Amy the ropes while he and Aadi go for a round of golf with Darren, a local entrepreneur, Aadi’s disappointed. And as Darren reveals his business plans to Dev, he suggests Aadi might like to be his right-hand man.

He wastes no time in accepting the job and later, all suited and booted, Aaid is ready to start his new job. And things continue to get better for Aadi as when Amy invites him to join her at a charity gala that evening, he's chuffed.

Meanwhile, Aadi tries to talk to Darren about Dev’s desire to invest but when it becomes clear Darren’s main interest is to ensure Aadi picks up his wife from an event that night, Aadi’s gutted, knowing he’ll have to let Amy down. Later, Aadi collects Courtney, with the intention of driving her home. But when Courtney asks him to take her for a kebab, he soon finds himself enjoying her company.

The next day, Darren reveals he has a meeting and Aadi hopes to sit in, but he’s disappointed when Darren explains he’d like him to take Courtney shopping instead. Aadi confides in Courtney how he took the job hoping he would gain some business experience and be able to share his own ideas.

Revealing she has an MBA, Courtney suggests he shares his ideas with her instead. Together Courtney and Aadi cajole Darren into agreeing to a meeting with Dev. Aadi then receives a text from Courtney telling him to meet her at Darren’s office. Arrives to find Courtney alone, she makes it clear she’s got the hots for him and when she leans in for a kiss, how will Aadi respond?

Stephanie's audition for Corrie marked the first since she decided to return to work since welcoming her son, Caben Albi, in 2017 with her TV personality ex-Jeremy McConnell. "All this was fate, it's crazy really," Stephanie told the Manchester Evening News and other press when talking about how she got the role.

"I took time out to be a mum to my little boy Caben and I said to my partner, 'I need to get back to work. I need to hear rolling up and action. I need to do what I love again'. I said I was going to get a new agent and have a fresh start and so I applied for a new agent and on the day I went to meet her, she said, 'What do you want to do?' and I said, 'I want to do Coronation Street. And throw in a Panto as well for Christmas', laughing and joking with her."

She continued: "She was taken aback and [said] people are usually like, 'anything that comes up,' but I was like no, I want to do Coronation Street." And funnily enough, her new agent later confirmed a role had come up for the soap and after an audition, the job was given to Stephanie.

"And obviously, as a kid, [I] grew up with Coronation Street on the television in the home and I just felt like everything happened for a reason and I felt so grateful and blessed and couldn't believe how one minute I was telling my new agent I want to do Coronation Street and the next minute I've got the part. It was a whirlwind but amazing."
