Coronation Street find perfect role for Snoop Dogg after rapper shares soap dream

Coronation Street has responded to Snoop Dogg's high praise of the ITV soap - and they have found him a perfect role.

The US rapper recently revealed he was a big fan of the ITV show and was desperate for a cameo on the programme. He praised the acting, storylines and how "real" it all was as he made a bid to join the programme.

Snoop Dogg is best known to fans as a rapper, but he has also made some cameos in big movies including Pitch Perfect and Training Day, amongst other shows and it looks like he could be heading to the Cobbles next.

He had previously shared: "Coronation Street, I love it. If they call me I’ll do it. I’ll play whenever they need. I love the cinematography, acting, the storylines and just the reality. I’d like to be part of it because they’ve been part of my culture."

Coronation Street have now responded to Snoop's wish - and have found the perfect role for him.

Quoting a news article about Snoop's love for the ITV soap, the official Twitter account belonging to the show penned alongside it: "He could serve hotpots in the Rovers, but he might drop it like it's hot..."

It's been a big week for the ITV soap, as two storylines have disrupted the residents.

Ryan was hit by acid after Justin attempted to attack Daisy on her wedding day, whilst Paul is set to be diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in a massive upcoming storyline on the show.

Speaking about the tough scenes, Ryan Prescott - who plays Ryan Connor - said: "There's a natural tendency to push the people away you love the most when you are in such a vulnerable state, and I think he has a little bit of that."

The team at Coronation Street have worked alongside The Katie Piper Foundation and Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI) for the storyline, with the soap's aim to highlight the devastating impact and long lasting effects of an attack like this.

During the tough scenes, the horror was clear on Daisy's face as she turned around to look at him. "You think everybody wants you because you're so perfect, aren't you? Nobody's going to want you after this," he said as he threw the acid.
