Coronation Street fans were alarmed at the end of the first 30 minutes of Friday night's visit, as a guest character revealed their true colours.
A male who appeared to be the hospital cleaner, clearing Peter Barlow's bin, actually turned out to be a villain.
Not only that but he had a secret link to Peter, who was awaiting his liver transplant, which he had no idea about.
Peter was awaiting to see if the operation was going ahead and was in the bed, when the cleaner suddenly entered the room.
He had small talk with him, but some viewers may have spotted that as he went to leave, the cleaner gave Peter a look.

It wasn't until later on in the episode that the character reappeared, this time in the corridor.
He was shown suddenly making a call as Peter's son Simon Barlow told Carla Connor that Peter's transplant would not be going ahead.
It's this phone call that confirmed all was not as it seemed, and that there was more to the cleaner being in that particular part of the hospital.
Speaking to a mystery person, he was exposed as villain Harvey's thug who was planning to kidnap Simon.

Simon is currently in witness protection with mum Leanne Battersby, after Harvey and his criminal gang were thwarted and arrested.
Leanne helped the police as an informant to bring down Harvey, and now he wants deadly revenge - hinting at his plan to silence her for good.
Harvey recently enlisted the help of his his aunt Sharon Bentley to find out where they are hiding, desperate to stop them both testifying against him in court.
Sharon had encouraged Simon's stepbrother Sam to alert him about his father's operation knowing it would bring him back to Weatherfield.

While Sam did not get through to Simon, he did tell his dad Nick Tilsley who is with them - and after overhearing Nick talking to Leanne about Peter, Simon fled to the hospital.
It appears the cleaner was informed of his possible visit looming, hence him entering Peter's room and then sticking around.
Viewers realised who he was as he knew all about Simon, and told someone else that he was there.

He said on the phone: "He's here, the kid... sending a photo now."
With no one else after Simon and only a few people knowing he might be there, it's pretty clear what the plan is - but can Simon get away?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
