Coronation Street fans were left shocked after Adam Barlow's unbelievable twist

Following a dramatic week on the cobbles, Corrie fans were left in shock over the latest twist with Adam Barlow.

Lydia Chambers' plan to ruin ex Adam's marriage because of the way he treated her in their university days came to a climax in Monday's hour-long episode. Fans watched Lydia knock Adam unconscious after a vicious attack, ending with him falling over the railings of a shopping centre.

Doctors told Adam in the latest episode that he would need surgery after bleeding occurred behind his eye. Waking up after the operation, his wife Sarah had come to visit him but it turned out to be Lydia undercover, allegedly wanting to apologise for her actions. Catching the jealous ex by his side, when his wife Sarah actually appeared she called the police.

What came next left fans in awe as Adam gets up from his bed and makes his way to the police station to make sure Lydia was freed. Clearly upset with the lack of reality, fans called his actions "ridiculous".

@UltimateBeouch said: "So a few hours after major surgery Adam is taking a walk to the police station." @MeeshyJay wrote: "I don’t know which is more ridiculous Adam defending psycho Lydia or Adam being able to get off that bed and make his way to the police station with a possible bleed to the brain after that horrific fall."

@buncie44 also said: "Adam made a miraculous recovery." @ChrisHydeCoope1 exclaimed: "Adam had an operation behind his eye like minutes ago???!!!!" @jambocaz added: "Just after surgery Adam ups and leaves hospital Really??!!"
