Coronation Street viewers were left traumatised this evening as Yasmeen Nazir was forced to defend herself against Geoff's grotesque abuse.
In dark scenes tonight, Geoff mocked, taunted and ridiculed Yasmeen and drove her into a corner, snarling: "Maybe I should kill you, do the world a favour. Do you think anyone would notice if you were gone?"
Terrified Yasmeen saw the knife in Geoff's hand and reacted, smashing a bottle into husband Geoff's neck and slashed him with the broken glass.
Throughout this evening's distressing episode, abusive DJ Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) relentlessly tormented Yasmeen.
This included lying to her about what Peter had said to him, telling Yasmeen that Peter had been disgusted she had been "all over him" earlier in the week.
He also taunted her by saying that her grandchildren didn't miss her at the wedding.
As she begged for his forgiveness, Geoff forced her to put on an overtly sexy dress as they met with Tim and Sally in the Rovers.
When a self-conscious Yasmeen changed into the dress, Geoff mocked: "She thinks I'm going to jump her bones because that was so pleasurable last time!"
Geoff forced her back home when she confronted him about taking money from Speed Daal to pay for Sally and Tim's wedding.
When they returned home, Geoff cornered Yasmeen as she pleaded for him to "love her like he used to".
But vile Geoff called her a "bony old bore" and said she "made his skin crawl".
As he advanced on her with a knife, Yasmeen grabbed the bottle and hit him.
Has Yasmeen killed Geoff?
