Coronation Street fans thrilled to see much-loved character return

Corrie fans were thrilled to see a legendary character return tonight to question Robert.

Viewers were chuffed to see DS MacKinnon return to their screens this evening.

DS MacKinnon has investigated several crimes over the years on the Cobbles , including Maria's sham marriage to Pablo and Ken Barlows attack.

And now she was back in Weatherfield to investigate Robert's role in Vicky's disappearance.

When she asked Robert about his relationship with Vicky he said: "It's complicated" and she swiftly replied: "This isn't a Facebook status, Mr Preston."

And fans took to social media in their hundreds to welcome the legendary officer back.

Alicia said: "Yes DS MacKinnon is back."

Stacey said: "Omg glad to see DS MacKinnon back on the street."

Char said: "MAC IS BACK."

Shaun Ely said: "Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without DS McKinnon."

And Double Dutch Diane said: "DS MacKinnon, back with a vengeance. She will get the job done."

Earlier this week Robert was humiliated when Michelle read out his messages from Vicky at the altar.

She embarrassed him in front of the entire church, revealing his treachery to the world, before storming out in dramatic fashion.

And things aren't looking good for Robert as Vicky has mysteriously disappeared.
