Coronation Street fans thrilled as 'soap queens' enjoy dinner away from Cobbles

Coronation Street viewers were thrilled to see a gang of the ITV soap 'queens' head out for dinner away from the Cobbles.

As the world has opened up over the past few weeks several Corrie stars have been enjoying time together away from the set.

And the latest star-studded outing left soap fans delighted - reports the Manchester Evening News.

Alexandra Mardell took to Instagram to share a snap of her enjoying a dinner date with on-screen flatmate Alina Pop actress Ruxandra Porojnicu, Maureen Lipman who is known for playing the soap's Evelyn Plummer.

Also dining with the soap crew was Rula Lenska, who is set to return to Corrie as Claudia.

The group beamed in the shot, which appeared to be taken in a branch of Wagamama.

Ruxandra was the first to comment, writing: "Queens!!!! What an honour!"

Co-star Samia Longchambon also added: "What a group!"

Fans also hit the comments section to share their joy at seeming them out together.

One said: "Wow, a quartet of talent overload! So excited, Rula is coming back! Acting royalty."

Another commented: "Awww Love This. Absolute Queens."

A third said: "This makes me so happy."

And a fourth simply said: "Squad goals."

Their outing comes after Corrie's latest broken family Todd Grimshaw, Billy Mayhew and Summer Spellman all dined out.

Actors Gareth Pierce, Daniel Brocklebank and Harriet Bibby hit south Manchester for dinner and cocktails earlier this week proving they're still very much friends away from the cobbles.

Dan shared alongside a snap of the trio to his Instagram page and said: "Dinner date with the gorgeous @garpierce & @harrietanneb. See, even though we’ve broken up we’re still co-parenting."
