Coronation Street fans threaten to boycott soap as Corey found not guilty of Seb’s murder

Coronation Street fans were not impressed on Friday evening as Corey Brent walked free and was found not guilty of Seb Franklin's murder.

Seb's mother Abi (Sally Carman) was in absolute shock as she arrived in court late and found Corey (Maximus Evans) leaving with his lying father Stefan

Stefan (Paul Opacic) had been bribing witnesses to deliver false testimonies in the hopes of securing Corey’s freedom, and Abi had confronted him about it just hours before the verdict.

Meanwhile, poor Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) was found guilty of Seb's horrific murder, despite not physically touching him at all on the fateful night.

She was told that she would serve 12 years minimum behind bars, but her lawyer Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) told her he would not give up on her.

Soap fans were not happy at all as one viewer fumed: "Right f**k it, I'm boycotting this f**king soap #corrie."

Another tweeted: "When @itvcorrie get it completely wrong. That verdict when the story is based on a true crime is a disgrace. Sally and Mollie have acted their bloody socks off throughout this storyline and deserve better from the scriptwriters. I’ve reached for the off button. Appalling #corrie."

A third viewer pleaded: "Please let this be a dream sequence, and then Abbie wakes up #CoronationStreet #Corrie."

And a fourth person added: "F**k off corey walks free I’m fuming #corrie," while another said: "Corey getting away with it is such a huge disappointment to the whole storyline #Corrie."

However, other fans of the ITV soap were certain that Corey would get his comeuppance in the near future and justice will be served.

*Coronation Street airs on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week from 7.30pm.
